Restaurants & Bars in PJ & KL

I have recently noticed restaurants & bars to be mushrooming all over the place especially in the Klang Valley region up to the extent I would definitely pass at least one every 2-3 minutes of my driving around here. The irony of it all - most of these outlets are almost full if not overflowing with patrons, especially in high density areas. What the hell!!??
What is the story here??? Do people really have that much money to blow and kick off in this particular industry or is there a trick to this? I so wanted to know the secret and I definitely did not want to miss the ship... It seemed so intriguing and yet attractive...
After much study and nosing around, here goes...
Through my journalistic inquisitiveness, I had managed to compile the average age for the owners of most of the restaurants & bars around KL & PJ - between 30 and 45. Where the hell do this young people get the money you might ask?
Parents - some of them, heritage - some of them, savings - minority, investments - majority.
Aha, investments! Which particular one you might ask??? Good question but no worries as I think I have the answer to this... ;-b
Snoop Dog says one word - PROPERTY!!! Yes, believe it or not, that is the major contributor! Simple maths, buy apartment for 200k, sell it for 300k, profit about 80k after the miscellaneous deductions and all. Then take the 80k and find 2 other partners who can share up to equal investment for the business and wallah... Totals to 240k - more than enough to start up a decent restaurant & bar...
Next question, why restaurant & bar? Hmmm... I think it is pretty straightforward and simple. We eat and drink when we are doing good, we especially drink when we are doing bad - be it from an emotional or economic point of view! This has always been the case since the days of Camelot per say... As the poem goes:

For every wound, a balm.
For every sorrow, a cheer.
For every storm, a calm.
For every thirst, a beer.

So true, eh...?

I realised, human beings (incuding me) in general are willing to go broke over drinks. When I say drinks, I actually mean alcohol consumption, ya...? Don't confuse it with juices (being precise now) :-)
Why do we go so far as to torture our pockets for alcohol?
Though often not thought of as a drug, alcohol is one of the most abused drugs in the world. The rate at which alcohol is consumed is alarming. I am not being a hypocrite as I do consume alcohol myself, sometimes excessively, but this is so true. ;-p
I suppose it is also because alcohol in a manner is a depressant due to the case of what it does to the body. It does not make you depressed but it relaxes those who enjoy relaxation. Unfortunately, people abuse it when depressed to numb the pain of their daily problems and manifest the characteristics of an alcoholic. You do the maths, I shall not elaborate on this.
Lols!!! But, following the above, it is no wonder bars are mushrooming all over the place because it is pretty obvious most of us are still in with the trend... Boozing!
Well, I was thinking... If everyone joins this cruise of investing in bars and becomes millionaires, what next??? I doubt millionaires would be nothing but average earners in the near future. What say you?
When the mothers of current time start asking their children of their goals and they begin to dream of being a billionaires instead - through the food & beverage business? Hmmm... I wonder... Let's ponder over this...
Cheers, mates!!! I could not resist it! Lols!!!

My very first attempt...

Hello blogging world! Bye-bye past...
I realise at some juncture in my life, I have to move on with time as it sails on its course, but nevertheless, the bittersweet memories will remain embedded in my body and soul.
Now the big question: Board the ship and have a sense of belonging or be stranded in open waters feeling senseless and lost? Take a pick?
Answer: I choose the former, after much deliberation though... I will cherish the experiences I had all along and dwell into the new world from now.
Gone were the days when we used landlines, books and typewriters to communicate and share our 2 cents worth. Come are the days when technology becomes the master and talks of the Freemasonry exerting control over politics, our daily lives and interesting enough - the rumour of the Order out to sabotage the internet world which is fast becoming a threat to mankind and their intent to form the NEW WORLD ORDER! Scary... What next? What will be the new obsession of mankind then? I dread to even wonder...
But yes, I choose to ride this journey and see where and which hole it will bring me to...
I am Allen J. P. Stanley, an Indian ethnic born at a small town in Penang, Malaysia and now after an eventful 30 over years, work as a sub editor in The Malay Mail - lapping every single seconds left of the next 30 years to come (If I can live that long ;-b)...
I figure we should enjoy life rather than bitch about it. Shit happens but make the best out of it, be yourself, don't have any grudges (but you can have a cooling off period though - Lols!!!) if they don't like you and be happy always! Yes, always THINK POSITIVE!
I like this quote and would like to share it with you:
Flaming enthusiasm, backed up by horse sense and persistence, is the quality that most frequently makes for success. - Dale Carnegie -
What did that quote have to do with anything I'm saying? Well, success for me is very general my friends... It could mean monetary or even knowledge or even a greater understanding of life... That is what this blog will be about... The nature of life and to make it a success by our own personal definition...
Why suddenly the blog and not Facebook or others??? Good question...
I suppose I needed somewhere I could communicate with you guys and gals to voice out concerns, share ideas and experiences, and also the pains and joys in one's life without barriers. Why not Facebook? I try to keep Facebook as personal as possible - the sense of privacy is absolutely ridiculous in that website although there is some control (minimal I must say) but as I said, I have already been drawn deep into it... So, I looked for alternatives... :-)
I have no idea where this blog is gonna bring me but one thing is for certain - it will be an eye opener for me at least (If only I knew what that meant - hahaha...).
I hope whoever reads my blog will give your 3 cents worth (It will be worth more than mine if not equal at least :-p ).
Getting feedback from all of you would enlighten me to a certain extent rather than just me perceiving and assuming from a personal point of view.
Honestly, I believe the more sharing there is around in this world equals to a better human race. Sounds corny but there is still apart of me which wants that bit to be true...
I am trying to do my part and hope by God all of us remain sane by the time we are done.
I accept positive and negative feedbacks on my blog with the intention to progress and humbly request opinions of others. So please do not hesitate to do so...
I hereby declare http://allenjpstanley.blogspot.com officially launched... ;-b What drama...???
